Mamezara Chaya in Kanazawa Castle Park was designed avoiding excess as a space to relax and so that it melds with the beautiful scenery of the surrounding historic buildings. Its garden-view seats seen in old Japanese houses have tables that accommodate wheelchairs too. Three areas of raised tatami-floored seats gently separated with natural bamboo are popular with the elderly and visitors from abroad. Great view seats were placed slightly above other areas, allowing guests in any seat to gaze over the buildings and garden.
My job is to assist clients and brands grow through excellent interior design. When designing, I make sure to stay true to each client’s concept and each brand’s philosophy. While my forte is in designing stores for apparel brands, including "mystic," "kastane," and "DEICY," I also design cafés, such as "Kagurazaka Saryo" and "Café Fusion 21," located within the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa Prefecture. Occasionally, my work spreads beyond the category of “interior design” to cover the areas of graphic design, package design, and art direction.
