Designed as a decorative light, Mi-30 deals with the notion of transmutation and the translation of planes into form that hint at fluidity and movement. The layering system of the skin plays with a range of light and shadows, creating an enclosure that implies organic growth. The lamp always presents a different profile depending upon the angle it is viewed from which also changes the intensity of light along with it.
Raza Zahid is an architect/ designer based in Lahore and is the founder of Raza Zahid Atelier, a design house focusing on architecture, interiors and product design. RZA is inspired upon the modernist sensibility: its focus is to question the status quo by reinterpreting the use of local crafts and materials, adopting new technologies and designing sensory spaces and products that bring joy to the users. Raza Zahid has also been involved in academia since 2009 and has taught at a number of universities in Pakistan.
