With a 45 degree slopping bottom, the regular glass divides into two triangular sections. When the glass cup is filled with water, the top section becomes a water prism allowing sunlight passing through to project a “rainbow” on table. This design intends to encourage people to find, observe and create the beauty of nature in life. Further more, it can touches your heart with an unexpected beauty in such a fast-paced society in China.
As the creative director of a design studio in France, Yishuai is an experienced designer who has worked for Mercedes-Benz, Lenovo, Boeing, UNICEF, Intel, etc. He has won many international design awards, such as Red Dot, IF concept design, Red-star award, K-design award, GIX innovation competition, etc. With his rich project experience and creative mindset, Yinshuai is capable of being a leader of team building, project management and design directing. Except that, he is also devoting himself to design education of design thinking to promote the design value implementation.
With the approval of the State Council, the Central Academy of Arts & Design (CAAD) was established in 1956 to meet the country’s demand for art design professionals. As New China’s first academy of art design, CAAD had the country’s best fine art educators, outstanding researchers in the field of national and folk art, and artists and designers who had returned to China after receiving their education overseas. In the nearly 40 years since then, CAAD remained the only independent academy of art and design in China. In November 1999 as China began restructuring its institutions of higher learning, CAAD merged with Tsinghua University and changed its name to the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, opening up a new chapter where it is to develop the art design discipline in a comprehensive university.
