Soytun is a ceramic piece designed for the increasingly common tasting of the various forms of presentation of raw fish such as sashimi, sushi, tartar... etc. This design serves to contain soy sauce, also has a place for spicy mustard (wasabi) and finally has a part to let chopsticks when they are not used. For its manufacture, Soytun is made with enamelled stoneware, attached to a painstaking craft production. Soytun is the third project for a line of eco-design functional, called "NATURA IMITATIS", from the Latin, imitating nature.
Carlos Jimenez and Pilar Balsalobre, are the founders of photoAlquimia design studio, based in Madrid (Spain). They work in the search for new creative solutions in the development of spaces, objects and events. Their philosophy is based on the development of very simple concepts, all of them inspired in nature (biomimetic), betting on sustainable solutions for the planet, using natural materials and recovering old handicraft techniques. All creations radiate simplicity, functionality and beauty. Their designs are full of humanity, seducing the thought, heart and senses of those who discover them.
photoAlquimia is a Spanish design studio engaged in providing the public with creative solutions to develop spaces, objects, and events. Our philosophy is to include the necessary time and silence to each idea, to raise projects In a natural way, always making sure good doses of love are involved in each design. Nature, trades, and different techniques in handcraft are our main source of inspiration, if you are able to sit quietly and observe, nature will give you answers of unimaginable value. Natural and ecological materials, blending in with handcrafting and uses of the latest technologies are the key for the up bring of our products. We believe when you acquire an object is to enrich and transform the spaces we live in, and that is what drive us to bring up lines of functional design to build up warmth, and beauty around us.
