The Chinese Zodiac typography includes 12 characters. Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig. It combines Chinese calligraphy and Chinese traditional watercolor drawing. With design thinking, it breaks the original calligraphy forms and adds creative drawings to it harmoniously to show the meaning of each character within itself. Chinese characters always look like complicated drawings to people who don't know Chinese. The purpose of this project is to make the Chinese characters understandable to everyone to spread Chinese culture.

Mengyu Cao (MC) is the founder of YiQi Hanzi. She has been making creative Chinese calligraphy to help people learn Chinese with visuals and story-telling. Her YiQi Hanzi products include physical flashcards, online learning applications, and merchandise. She started her design journey as a Graphic Designer and then stepped into Digital Product Design for the past decade.

YiQi Hanzi provides the efficient way to learn & memorize Chinese Characters. Their mission is to deliver the beauty of Chinese characters and cultures to the word. Yiqi Hanzi started on a dining table. MC, the founder, started to create character drawings as an interest in Chinese cultures and characters. After a couple years, they now have a thousand unique Chinese characters drawings, launched online learning center to help Chinese learners with their Chinese journeys.
