In today's world where products designed with technology are preferred, it is inevitable to associate technology with built-in products. Now, technology-friendly products create a warmer and welcoming feeling compared to the past. By this door handle design, besides providing a hightech identity to the doors as a part of a built environment, the door is locked by simply turning the illuminated circle without using a key with an ergonomic lock system. The light provided by the apparatus, it is understood whether the door is locked. The color of the light gives the design an aesthetic appearance.

Elif Güneş graduated from İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University, from the department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. In 2007, she received her master degree and in 2011 she received her PhD degree from the same department of İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University. She is the head of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts Design and Architecture, Atılım University, Ankara, Turkey. She also is the director of graduate program. Her previous professional experience has included appointments as a research assistant and instructor, and she is currently works as an Asst. Prof. Dr. in the same department. She has published articles in various international journals and edited books, and her current research and teaching interests include interior design studio, color theory and psychology of color, color-emotion associations, space and emotion, lighting in interior spaces and wayfinding strategies.

Atilim University was founded by the Atilim Foundation on 15 July 1997 to serve as a Foundation University in the capacity of a legal entity pursuant to provisions of Law no. 2547 concerning the Foundation of Higher Education Institutes. Atılım’s goal is to develop individuals with the capability of attaining and putting to use the universal information required in the age of technology;- individuals who are knowledgeable and experienced in their respective fields, able to work as members of a team, and are not afraid of competition.
