#292: I would like to inquire about the dress code of the gala-night.
Do the women have to dress specifically in red or black? or Can I wear a navy gown or any other colour for that matter?
You can wear any color you like, red and black are suggested but not requires. Please make sure your dress is a formal or semi-formal wear. To remind you the dress code for woman is an evening gown or cocktail dress. Evening gown is a long flowing women's dress usually worn to a formal affair. It ranges from tea and ballerina to full-length. Evening gowns are usually made of luxurious fabrics such as chiffon, velvet, satin, organza or silk. A cocktail dress or cocktail gown is a woman's dress worn at cocktail parties and semi-formal or "black tie" occasions. Historically the length of a cocktail dress is long, often touching the ankle. When it is about 5 cm (2 inches) above the ankle it is called tea length and when it is almost touching the ankle it is called ballerina length. About our Black-Tie definition for women: the black tie is less formal than white tie but more formal than informal or business dress. It is also more formal than recent intermediate codes of “creative,” “alternate” or “optional” black tie. Women's dress for black tie occasions also include evening shoes, and perhaps a handbag.
