About Agustina Ruiz de Mendarozqueta : Industrial Designer, teacher, and researcher. Based in Buenos Aires since 2010, she founded her design studio, where she develops and creates for various interdisciplinary projects in Argentina and also works for clients in Japan. She designs and produces for 7RAYOS, her own brand of sensitive design products for the home. STATEMENT OF ART:In her quest during the creative process, she explores morphology, material behavior, and perceptual aspects. She uses manual techniques and incorporates new technologies. Enamored with nature, she focuses on biodesign to create new sustainable products and materials. Her designs have received distinctions such as the "Argentine Good Design Seal" and the "CMD Label" and have been exhibited in national and international exhibitions such as Wanted Design NYC, Design Festa Tokyo, NY NOW Malba Store Selection, Puro Diseño, among others. She was a professor of industrial design at UBA and currently teaches in the Bachelor of Design at Universidad Austral and Di Tella. Since 2020, she has been part of the independent research group Material Systems and co-directs the Origena lab project. I feel passionate about what I do. Observing, discovering, interacting, and creating are actions that define me, giving my best in every challenge I undertake. My daily life emerges from the exploration and discovery of new forms. I am drawn to working on laminar developments that take on three-dimensionality through design. Exploring and researching. Addressing design in all its aspects, from conceptualizing the object to consulting in strategic design. I commit to the design process, guided by creativity and intuition, until achieving the desired outcome. I am inspired by nature, art, and the human being with their customs and habits. I am motivated to create so that people are surprised, bringing improvements to their daily lives. Sharing knowledge through collaborative work, teaching, and exchanging experiences seems essential to me for both personal and collective growth.
