FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
HZ: Since I was young, I will pay attention to some beautiful things, such as sports shoes, clothing, art, music, architecture and so on.
FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
HZ: HDI was established in Hangzhou,China. The studio has accomplished commercial projects covering retailing, catering and hotels. Our design has evolved from brand positioning to architecture renovation, interior and furniture customization.
FS: What is "design" for you?
HZ: Technology to solve people's needs and improve people's life and experience.
FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
HZ: Simple and profound
FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
HZ: Practical and beautiful
FS: What makes a design successful?
HZ: Feeling from the standpoint of a third party.
