FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
WSH: Designing has always been my ambition & dream since when i was a little girl. In my academic journey i have always excel in arts lessons. The journey of this dream has always been with me and through persistence and commitment..I am proud to be one of the successful designer in my country. Every project that is under my watch and care i would treat it as my new born baby. From born to a complete beautiful adult. This process brings about unlimited passion and love. design is like my soul my shadow my blood.It is my everything.

FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
WSH: We were endorsed and recognized as a professional designer group. with Client's confidence and supports we successfully set up professional design companies and elite design teams in both mainland and Taiwan. The main structure of our company is divided into interior SI design department, graphic VI design department, quality control department which covers mainland China, Taiwan and overseas market. Customers were impressed and satisfied with our ever always diversified and comprehensive designs works. Our company design philosophy: service, professional, intimate. Design comes from life, creating design from the spirits of our soul.

FS: What is "design" for you?
WSH: turning a blank paper into a beautiful priceless art piece. Beautifying from ground zero.

FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
WSH: Commercial

FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
WSH: the current project -MASU bar. A challenging project because this is executed during the pandemic covid period where resources is limited and movement is somehow constrain.

FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
WSH: Residential show flat.

FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
WSH: natural wood / IG / APPLE OS

FS: When do you feel the most creative?
WSH: every morning relaxing at the balcony with a sip of hot coffee

FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
WSH: functionality

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
WSH: excited and happy

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
WSH: great sense of satisfaction

FS: What makes a design successful?
WSH: patience / detail / functionality / problem resolve / enhancement in standard of living

FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
WSH: from a flaws and shortcoming into advantage

FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
WSH: protecting the earth by adopting less wastage and using my recycle products best possible.

FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
WSH: design is like thin air. it revolves around our lives in every detail. future is promising and more people are placing top priorities to this area.

FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
WSH: NA

FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
WSH: inspirations comes from every bits and parts of your life. wherever you go whichever you see and whatever you feel..they can be source of inspirations. extend and bring about those visual in mind into the project. depending on the theme which can involves history and cultures

FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
WSH: TO begin with my design style and concept were mainly diversified.. hence i have a in-depth understanding of its respective origin local lifestyle and history. By integrating these into the design with a sense of its stories lines.

FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
WSH: china. yes it does affect in some way. Pros - Deep long historical heritage knowledge Cons - The wide gap between the rich and poor.

FS: How do you work with companies?
WSH: mainly referrals and come tender projects

FS: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
WSH: a designer with deep passions / commitments with actions/ very details / punctual

FS: Can you talk a little about your design process?
WSH: survey the site - understand clients needs and requirements - research - inspiration - conceptualize drawing plan - 3D drawings - sourcing of relevant materials - technical construction drawings - site supervision

FS: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?
WSH: cabinets / sanitary wares / lights / kitchen ware / plants and flowers pots

FS: Can you describe a day in your life?
WSH: design/ inspiration

FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
WSH: MUST be committed and never turn back when you decide on this route. believed in yourself. if you should not continue this profession if you do not possess deep passion.

FS: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
WSH: for me designer is a important profession to improve the quality of my life and it can bring about happiness to people. I consider it as a selfless dedication inspiration. the negative part is that you dont have adequate rest.

FS: What is your "golden rule" in design?
WSH: meeting the deadline

FS: What skills are most important for a designer?
WSH: colors matching and combination. applying the appropriate Materials.

FS: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
WSH: software includes SU/CAD/3D. APPLE computor. relevant books for research and inspirations. visiting of museum etc

FS: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?
WSH: designing is already part of my life. hence i always put priorities on design work over myself.

FS: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
WSH: range from one month to 6 months depending on the size of the project

FS: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer?
WSH: as a designer do we always need to work extra long hours and at times sleepless night?

FS: What was your most important job experience?
WSH: designing

FS: Who are some of your clients?
WSH: mainly listed companies

FS: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?
WSH: all kind of design because i have great passion for design

FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you?
WSH: taking on more challenging design projects. strive to achieve more designer awards as part of the personal recognition and endorsement from reputable design institution

FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
WSH: team

FS: Do you have any works-in-progress being designed that you would like to talk about?
WSH: high end luxury private club (2500 m2) / high end villas / intelligent ecological farm/ hotspring resort/ show flat showroom etc.
