Interview with Yunpeng Zhang at Thursday 23rd of May 2019 FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer? YZ: When I was about 10 years old, one day I looked at a pot of plants in the yard and suddenly had a very strange idea. I think I can put the pictures I saw on paper, and that feeling is wonderful. After that, I started to paint and embarked on the designer's road. I like the design process, I like to see a lot of possibilities, and I like the process from scratch. For me, design is not just about design. It is also the cornerstone of my contact with the world. It makes our links more compact and healthy. FS: What is "design" for you? YZ: Design is the process of discovery, the one that finds the most interesting and appropriate from among many possibilities. Implement it and use it to link the people and things you want to link. FS: When do you feel the most creative? YZ: Feel the most creative in the middle of the night FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized? YZ: Regret FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first? YZ: Whether it realizes the value of its existence FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment? YZ: Promote correct values, find out the people's longing for a better life, and express them in a design way. Use it to build deep links that affect people's behavior. FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design? YZ: The future of design is the future of intelligence. Execution is no longer a barrier to entry for designers, and creative and interesting ideas will add vivid colors to an infinitely unified and infinitely diverse future.
