Interview with Dante Luna at Friday 13th of November 2020 FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer? DL: Dante Luna Arquitectos is an architecture firm responsible for the planning, design and execution of projects. I am its director, I obtained the title of architect at the National University Pedro Henríquez Ureña in 2000 in the Dominican Republic. Since my inception, the firm's objectives have been to offer integral architecture, interior design and engineering solutions. FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio? DL: Dante luna architects is an architectural firm responsible for the planning and implementation of civil and design projects in general, led by the arq. Dante Luna Guerrero with the vision of offering integral solutions of architecture, interior design and engineering. With a portfolio of more of 50 projects executed in all the lines and characteristics of the construction exercise; and with clients from all fields and programmatic aspects, we feel confident that we can respond optimally to any type of needs that your project demands. FS: What is "design" for you? DL: For me, design is to create dreams to turn in to reality. FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most? DL: I design the most, commercial buildings, interiors offices and residences. FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it? DL: So far, the Ilumel store. It has been an intervention of several years and several phases. In Its last intervention in 2014, It has been able to achieve what he planned 8 years ago. FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company? DL: The first thing I designed was an office with 10 square meters. For the same client, the last one he designs has 950 square meters. It is very rewarding to be able to grow and maintain the first clients of the studio. FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology? DL: My favorite materials are the noble materials. To be able to leave the material in its natural state, such as stone, concrete, etc. So far the technology that I like the most are the 3D printers. FS: When do you feel the most creative? DL: I think that each place and experience is a fundamental tool for creativity, but where I feel most creative is when I analyze in detail the sensations filed.
