MABS: I like to design products that make sense. that their concept is interesting and that they are not defined because I believe that innovation comes from the creation livertad based on a concept and an objective. FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it? MABS: Bermuda, Is a creative solution to a problem with high impact in society. FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company? MABS: Stands and furniture FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology? MABS: I love all the processes of transformation from a raw material to a product and I do not have a preferred material because you always have to look for the best material for each project but the best material is the one that has the greatest positive impact, socially, visually, economically and environmentally. FS: When do you feel the most creative? MABS: whenever there is freedom with a stated objective FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing? MABS: all aspects are important. FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design? MABS: feeling of freedom, of playing with my senses and my ideas, of doing something unique. FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized? MABS: satisfaction FS: What makes a design successful? MABS: good design makes your product a good product and a good product will always be bought and wanted. FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first? MABS: A good design has many points to consider but it is more important that the user and those around him see it as the best product. FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment? MABS: Designers are responsible for creating solutions that not only benefit a person, but impact on society, the ecosystem and the end user. Always keep in mind that everything you do has an impact so there is always something positive to make of that impact. FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design? MABS: I think the design is now on a phase where all is sustainable and eco friendly but I think that always it will be. From now I think the technological innovation could improve creation of objects and design solutions for the humanity and planet actual problems. starting by the megatrends for 2030 FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition? MABS: I want to hold my next exhibition in milan FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations? MABS: the inspiration to design comes from nature, that's why I like to live in Merida. because I always have contact with nature and at the same time with society. but being in a natural environment, breathing fresh air, listening to the sounds of nature and that feeling of it translates into my in infinite creativity. FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design? MABS: My design is quite simple, geometric and with lines that make a design friendly, interesting and visually appealing. More than a design style, each product that has to be developed has to be supported by previous research. so it's not just a style, it's a why. Although, despite this, it is easy to identify what I have developed if you know what I do. FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country? MABS: I live in Mérida, Yucatán. In Mexico. My country is full of criticism when it comes to solving needs. looking for alternatives that achieve what is required. Due to the lack of technological and monetary resources that may exist in the country, it has been possible to innovate and develop based on certain limitations that other First World countries do not have, so I think that my country has definitely influenced my design without being socially and culturally. a limitation, I think it is rather a great advantage. FS: How do you work with companies? MABS: depending on the project and agreement is the way of working with the client. since participation in companies has been obtained for the development of products, a payment has been obtained and various agreements have been reached, depending on the client, conditions and the project. FS: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer? MABS: I think they should be open to giving young entrepreneurs the opportunity to develop large projects. but in general, it is good to see what projects they have developed before and seeing how responsible and good they are at what they do. FS: Can you talk a little about your design process? MABS: The design process is based on design thinking but adapted to our processes and also adapted to the type of project to be developed. Since we believe that there is not only one way to reach the goal, we previously analyzed how this development will be achieved. FS: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home? MABS: Eames chairs The furniture that I have designed The lamps that I have designed for my house My pininfarina design pen And my computer FS: Can you describe a day in your life? MABS: All my days are very different. always learning from people for the development of new projects. In addition to squash, being in touch with nature and living with friends. I believe that life should be balanced but always doing what you love. FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers? MABS: Don't fear anything, just fear to say I can't. Because you will probably achieve it. Remember that challenges feed creativity. FS: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer? MABS: Everything in life you should see positive. because many of the barriers you put them on. Not everything is easy but almost everything is possible. so define your goals and work for them. Sky is not the limit. FS: What is your "golden rule" in design? MABS: Solve, improve, create! FS: What skills are most important for a designer? MABS: Creativity, organization and the use of technological tools FS: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.? MABS: The best tools of an industrial designer are books of many things that are not design. because begin of that could develop a product with a base. then the other tools are high technological softwares and solutions to develop design projects and the art and nature are the best inspiration i could have. FS: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time? MABS: Design takes a lot of time if you do not have defined where you want to direct your design becomes more complicated. but by defining the scope, the client and the budget it is faster to achieve design development. unless the process involves a very large investigation. FS: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end? MABS: The time depends on the type of project to be developed and the development team involved. But due to our method of work and development we can achieve shorter times thanks to collaborations with professionals. FS: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer? MABS: What is the next project? FS: What was your most important job experience? MABS: The development of projects from different areas for important brands of various items such as Moon palace, Habanos, Porsche Mexico, etc. FS: Who are some of your clients? MABS: FGO arquitectura, Blastbot, Grupo Orve, Hf, etc. FS: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why? MABS: The design projects I enjoy most are those where there is creative freedom and where the scope of the project may be greater. and in general where the project represents a challenge. because in each challenge there is a very great learning and because of that you grow as a person and as a designer. FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you? MABS: The following is to expand the work team to develop increasingly larger projects and to make a multidisciplinary and multicultural team in order to achieve more impact when developing projects.
