Interview with Pallavi Budigari at Saturday 23rd of April 2016 FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer? PB: I have always been inclined to the creative side of various disciplines since I can remember. Art, photography ,music , a good book well written would always interest me. But design, the most. It is this one discipline I find that is both fun and exciting and grounded in reality at the same time. Having an education in the discipline of Architecture & Design seems to strike the right chord with this creative edge and its influence in the real context. The choice was very instinctive. FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio? PB: ME DESIGN STUDIO , was formed in the summer of 2012. 'Making Eutopia' was the motto. It was envisaged to be a design conscious practice that believes in design that reflects sensibility and sensitivity. Designs that makes a difference and transforms spaces. From architectural - interior projects to designing a poster , the love for design allows us to be a part of things that are wonderful . FS: What is "design" for you? PB: Design is an attitude. Good design speaks volumes. FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company? PB: A park between 2 streets. FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology? PB: Concrete. FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing? PB: space planning during design inception and detailing during execution. FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design? PB: The process of designing is very contentful . FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized? PB: Elated. FS: What makes a design successful? PB: When it is fresh in conception, adaptation and perspective. If the design excites you its already successful. FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first? PB: To judge any design , its context is imperative. FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment? PB: Having to generate good design is a designers prime responsibility. Good designs are addictive. Such designs when sensible and sensitive , can create a positive influence towards the society and the environment and can alter the way people look and be . A well designed spoon , a great home or a lush green public park . Design is everywhere. It can influence , bring awareness and hence people can make wiser choices . FS: How can people contact you? PB: the best way is to write / mail to me at , mearchitect.080@gmail.com , office@medesignstudio.in
