Interview with Ozimuk Tatyana at Monday 14th of April 2014 FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer? OT: Since childhood, she loved to draw. The houses were all the walls are painted by me. Mom noticed this craze took me hudozhestvuennuyu school at age 12. During the training, I decided to become a future architect. FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio? OT: I am a young architect. I create real-world projects for the construction and also for conceptual architectural competitions. FS: What is "design" for you? OT: More precisely architecture. Architecture is the meaning of my life. FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most? OT: Most like to create low-rise residential buildings and sports facilities. FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it? OT: My favorite project is my thesis that is stated in the competition. Called "indoor ski center" Above it, I worked for four months. FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company? OT: creative thinking FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology? OT: Favorite building material wood, concrete and glass. FS: When do you feel the most creative? OT: I like to work at night in silence. FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing? OT: First of all, for me it is important to design the form. FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design? OT: A sense of excitement. Sometimes I do not remember how I came to this idea. FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized? OT: Sense of pride. But while such projects is very small. FS: What makes a design successful? OT: Project that produces human exclamation WOW! FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first? OT: Beauty and Functionality FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment? OT: Create a comfortable environment for people. FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design? OT: Design and Architecture - the engines of the time. And maybe in a few years we will live for example in flying houses. FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition? OT: Last crashed on an exhibition of works in the city of Yekaterinburg. I would like to spend his personal exhibition in his home city of Astana. FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations? OT: The inspiration is the work of architect Zaha Hadid. FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design? OT: I love working in different styles. But most of all I fit minimalism, hi-tech bionic architecture. FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country? OT: I live in the Kazakhstan capital Astana. Astana young capital is developing fast. There is a clear structure of the city. Lack of city little greenery. FS: How do you work with companies? OT: I try to be responsible architect and perform quality work. FS: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer? OT: First of all, companies need to recruit very young designers and architects. Hire them as apprentices. Only such can get real professionals. As they learn to real-world projects. FS: Can you talk a little about your design process? OT: In the morning I wake up at 7:30 am I go to work. The workday starts at 9:00. From this moment begins yatvorchesky process and it ends at 18:00 pm. Next come home and the house continues the creative process that lasts well into the night. Sometimes I do not want to do anything but this happens very rarely. Basically, I live with my profession. FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers? OT: Draw, watch and work on yourself. FS: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer? OT: The bad side is that you can become an unrecognized genius. FS: What is your "golden rule" in design? OT: You need to love what they do. FS: What skills are most important for a designer? OT: Sense of Style FS: Which tools do you use during design?
