Interview with Kensho Miyoshi at Monday 14th of April 2014 FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer? KM: I have been studying aerospace engineering at the University of Tokyo for six years. Beside my research on aerial robots for entertainment, I had a opportunity to make works for an exhibition of the university. That was the start of my career as a designer. FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio? KM: I am a freelance designer. FS: What is "design" for you? KM: For me, "design" is rediscovery of the world. I always try to see the unseen aspects of things around me and to seek clues to reshape it with technology. FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most? KM: On one hand, I like to design interiors that have potential to make people feel sense of time. On the other hand, I enjoy designing the new experience that cutting-edge technology might bring to us. FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you? KM: My future plan is to study design and engineering. FS: How can people contact you? KM: Please send email to miyoshikensho@ailab.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp
