Interview with Francesca De Blasi at Sunday 15th of April 2012 FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer? FDB: I've always been a creative person, I practiced dancing all my life, is a form of creativity that does not require words, it is through dance that I started to imagine and design my dresses for competitions. I was very young, I decided to take a course in order to make modeling my clothes then the passion has grown enough to take me only 18 years to move to Milan to study and graduate in Fashion Design at the Politecnico di Milano FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio? FDB: It is not yet officially a company, I'm starting. For now I realize and design all by myself. FS: What is "design" for you? FDB: Design is giving vent to his own being and your own emotions. Design is materializing an image that has flown in mind and make it visible to all FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most? FDB: I really like to develop special projects, hitting the eye and remain in the heart, I prefer to make an unique piece really special FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it? FDB: My favorite model is the trikini, is the head of greater visual impact There are about 800 Strass Swarovsky applied to 5 different colors,the strass were selected, fitted and assembled by me personally, one by one. FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology? FDB: Absolutely strass Swarovsky FS: When do you feel the most creative? FDB: Late in the evening or night FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing? FDB: Aesthetic beauty, elegance, comfort FS: What makes a design successful? FDB: Passion FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first? FDB: Aesthetic, visual aspect FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition? FDB: July 2011 International Exhibition of beachwear Mare d'Amare in Florence and a series of summer shows. The next will be in summer 2012 date TBD FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself? FDB: Lavoro e sviluppo i progetti autonomamente FS: How can people contact you?
