| DESIGN NAME: Rizhao PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ocean Park INSPIRATION: The Project is located in the coast area in each China, where the sun sheds its first light onto the earth. It is also the cradle of sun culture of China. The concept of the Project is inspired by the golden sea surface when the sun starts to rise, and the Project is designed as a salute to the generosity of the ocean, and as a respect to the energetic marine life with the language of architecture. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It is the first new-type marine park that integrates the aquarium and the plant and bird park, which has a huge exhibition pool with a volume of 5,000 tons and a spectacular sky flower sea. A novel biological exhibition method is adopted for the Sunshine Aquarium. In the Aquarium, more than 60% of the water body is covered by natural light, which is rarely seen in the entire world. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The visiting route and water body within the aquarium are interspersed, creating a diversified exhibition space with rich content. Its top side is a skylight of the spherical single-layer grid structure with a span of 40 meters. Furthermore, ground assembly and one-time hoisting and installation are allowed. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The virtual interaction of different modules is introduced into the aquarium design, so as to express the remarkable tension of the sea waves. In terms of surface treatment, golden perforated aluminum plate has been chosen. The plant and bird park is mainly made of glass curtain wall. The architectural elements on the external facade are like veins of a leaf, and the entire plant and bird park is like a leaf lying silently a beach with plenty of sunshine. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Rizhao Ocean Park is located within the Olympic Water Park, with the East China Sea on its west. It covers an area of 161.7 mu, and a total area of 49976.58 square meters and has a total investment of 900 million yuan. It is a leading tourist project of Rizhao, and comprises the Sunshine Aquarium and Four Season Flower and Bird Park as two highlights, and Bird Theater, Waterfowl World, Children's Kingdom and many other interesting outdoor sightseeing spots. TAGS: Architecture, Ocean Park, Culture Center, Exhibition, Oriental Elements, Natural RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Rizhao Ocean Park is a comprehensive cultural tourism project integrating tourism, leisure and entertainment and business. The parameter-based non-linear design has been adopted to form tender graphics, which look like the ripples on the surface of the sea when a breeze blows over. The resultant aquarium looks vivid and lifelike in terms of its form, structure and appearance as waterfront buildings.Copyrights belong to Name Surname, Year. CHALLENGE: A number of water bodies of various shapes and forms are complicatedly correlated. In order not to obstruct line of sight and the flow line, cantilevered stairway and large cantilevered stands are provided in different places within the aquarium. At the entrance of the aquarium, there is a Z-shaped post and batter post and other unconventional structures, so as to exhibit the purity of the facades and indoor spaces, and achieve a unity between architectural innovation and structural innovation.
