DESIGN NAME: E Drum
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Kinetic Electronic Drums Show
INSPIRATION: This project was born by chance. A producer wanted to bring a drum show, We came up with the Jyro insperation. And that it how it was born. We then formed a team of musicians, tech light and design and started to develope the E Drums
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: E Drum was created to give the audience an extraordinary experience they was never seen before.
When working on this design we had to use multipal platforms and make them all work together.
First of all it is a new way for the drummer. A new machine. A new space/stage.
So the space uncouriged new thinking for the drummer and then that also inspired the musicians to write the
music. The E drums can be wheeled in the stage. As a new act. It had to be super modular from all aspects (size, weight, transport, time to build and also take apart)
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The E drum is designed to be an interactive platform. The (technical) language is MIDI. So when the drummer
plays he triggers MIDI notes that we can transform into lighting Ques / video Ques or any other actions we
want do to or will want in the future. We loved building these platforms becuase the infuze and inspire creative
actions and options. This way we can always add ideas and come up with new ways to enhance the
experiance. This is key in the entertainment indusrty. This way each new production can make their own
unique show.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started march 2019 and the debute was on Sep 22nd 2019. First show was near the dead sea in
the desert in Israel.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We started on WYSIWYG lighting design software. We tested the space with a drummer to get notes. Lights in this project are about as equal to the music. To become the visual material that would imitate music through various methods in light design. we went over more technical and specific design. We solved the movement of the rings. We came up with how to lift the 3m ring with all fixtures on it. We developed the soft ware side Abelton Live for music and MIDI triggers and GMA2 for lights.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The stage is 115cm R, 60cm high. It has 3 rings. The 1st ring is 150cm R, second is 70cm radius and the 3rd
115cm R. The machine can be broken into 3 parts for transportation. We have 19 drums each has a RGB
pixel controlled Neon Flex tube around it. All sound is controlled via Abelton Live. We Have 20 Robe 150beam
21 Nova 1light LED blinder2 AntariM7 gazers 2 Cold Pyro gazers 4 Par LED RGBW 1 Portman P1
lights controlled via GMA2 . 3 motors to move the rings.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Examining existing drum positions in the market and how it is possible to renew a drum set. The goal was to reach a new experience that would not leave one person indifferent to it. Explored a relationship between light and drums so they blended in and spoke in one language. Explored how to allowing drums to be dynamic and not hurting the drummer as playing. Ensure weight versus mobility, transport, assembly , safety and comfort.
CHALLENGE: Connect the lighting and sound together. Allow the drummer to become an integral part of the installation, Find a balance between the needs of the human drummer a new playgroud
with unlimited sounds and options with the needs of making a grand visual show. The spacing, this is on top of the fact that the rings move and change position. For the first time the drummer got drumms in the back of his head to use. How to build something an event could use and will make an impact.
