| DESIGN NAME: Y1 Younger Series PRIMARY FUNCTION: Security Device INSPIRATION: Less is more is one of our preferred motto, so we tried to follow this idea and cut all useless parts and shapes in order to achieve a simple and stylish outlook design. Mor simple means often also more easy to understand and use. Nature is simple and direct, we tried to follow this way, designing a simple and clean product. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: focused on quality of materials and simplicity of design, this security face recognition device is fancy, stylish and robust. Main body is made by Aluminium, the product is of course water proof, there is an atmosphere lamp on the back side and a reflective face light to ensure the 2 megapixel camera can get a clean picture. The compact size make it fitting almost everywhere and the shape is clean without any visible screw. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Simply walk in front of a door or a gate and the camera will check your face in less than half second and will automatically open the gate welcome you or ask you to wait the attendant to get a pass, in acase you are not listed. While in stand by the display can show advertisements or welcome messages. This product can be placed on wall, desk, passenger channels or other scenarios. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Project started around December 2018 in Shanghai and finished in September 2019 when it was presented in a special convention. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Body case is made by CNC on aluminium block. Sealed by detailed matching parts is totally water proof and cannot be affected by dust or rain. The software system is based on Android 9 O.S running on a 4 cores CPU and 2+16 Gbyte memory. The world most advanced recognition algorithm can recognize a face in less than 300 milliseconds through a two eyes identification, to avoid people use fake photos or sculptured faces. Equipped with distance sensors and a 5 inch Lcd HD display IPS can communicate with a 4G/5G network, USB or Bluetooth. This product main feature is face recognition but can be used for advertisement and advices. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Dimension: 8.3x8.5x18.7 cm pack: 12x12x23cm Android 9 O.S running on a 4 cores CPU and 2+16 Gbyte memory. 300 millisecond recognition algorithm. 4G/5G network USB3.0, Bloothoth TAGS: face, recognition, ID, security, technology, camera, gate RESEARCH ABSTRACT: the benchmark of what existing on the market and the technichal needs of the product/client were at the base of the research start. Disassembling existing competitors products and check the technology and solutions they used helped us to find our way. After defining the technichal layout we started to study the ergonomy in details i.e. the best inclination of the camera to fit on a wall and get a clear picture of tall and short people. Many prototypes were made to check the size that fits usability and appearence, while allow all technichal parts inside. CHALLENGE: the main target was to make a clean and simple shape to show this product as friendly and easy. Matching a simple and pure shape with the water proof need and the absence of screws outside was a real challenge.
