| DESIGN NAME: Bright House PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residence INSPIRATION: The inspiration comes from the tight connections between client and his (her) family members. Since they are extremely close to each other, they hope everyone can enjoy all kinds of activities freely in this space. Therefore, the main living room is designed with open space and without physical walls, instead the metallic frames are used to divide the area. In this way, the whole living room can also share the natural light from two balconies. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In order to satisfy the clients and reach the expectations and needs of all family members, the designer spent a lot of time communicating before making plans, then only started the construction when everyone were happy with the proposal. Under the premise of making the best use of the character of the base, the designer created a bright, outstanding and exquisite space for living. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The project started the execution at the custom variation stage, both the plan view and water and electricity configuration were already arranged properly so there was no need to make big modification while designing, by doing so it also can avoid cost waste caused by large changes. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: White stone material, titanium-plated metal, brushed metallic color, light grey veneer, and stone-look laminate hard plastic sheet. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The interior area is approximately 142 square meters, including one living room, one dining room, an open kitchen, a reading and lounge area, 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. TAGS: Open space, slow living, spaciousness , brightness, interior design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: For the family who wants to have a slow-living life style, as the design goal is important to make the best use of the advantages of the base and keep the interior spacious. From the corridor to the indoor space, the metal folding screen is used to define the field and it is the first spotlight of the entrance. The folding screen shows that the living room and kitchen dining area are with open style design, letting the family members can interact with each other. Each area is designed to have its own function while complying with the original structure of the building. The reading and lounging area behind the TV wall is also separated by putting up a metal frame, becoming a unique and half-open corner in this house. CHALLENGE: Since the whole family really value the future housing environment, every one of them attended each meeting to discuss the design. The time arrangement and negotiation between each other is where they spent the most effort with. Fortunately, after several times of explaining and communicating with multiple programs offered as choices, here comes a result to satisfaction of everybody. NAME: Dan Xiang Co., Ltd. PROFILE: With deep appreciation for the dream of dwelling, there has always been the enthusiasm and ample practical experiences in providing humanistic services as client needs are listened to, and client rituals are understood so as to satisfy the usage needs of the inhabitants in making a comfortable home for clients. The design team offers a series of customizable service procedures based on needs of different client segments of different conceptions of Home which the design team intends to listen to, as it sought to realize all dreams of dwelling. The design team insists on an approach of hands-on start-to-finish by team members so as to ensure the effort of the team realized in every junction, with caution towards every detail, and patience in dealing with complexity, in delivery project on time. For spaces that are large to small, from orientation to functionalities, every planning format would be thoroughly presented in the plans and elevations, even sketched perspectives, so that clients would readily appreciate the imaginations for their future dwellings. The character, Dan, of the first character in the name of the design studio, represents the color of red, which symbolizes the passion of this design studio in serving its clients.The character, Hsiang, of the second character in the name of the design studio, represents the seasons of Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, the orientations of East, North, West and South, as well as the four quadrants of Sun, Moon, Star, and Constellation, along with Yin, Yang, Stern, and finesse, as it represents the perennial motion of the design practice much like that of the seasons. |
