| DESIGN NAME: Colors and Lines PRIMARY FUNCTION: Fine Art Photography INSPIRATION: This series is inspired from the primary colors - Red, Yellow, Blue which used to appear in painting and design. I want to create an experimental approach with these 3 colors in reality together with the lines and different perspectives, making it into a 2-dimension surrealism and painting-like photography. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Unlike normal photography, audience might feel it like a painting at the first sight from its surreal angles. This is the most interesting and unique part of my photography that it could blur between painting and photography, transcending the ordinary between the state of dream and reality. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This series tries to move the vision of the world into colors, lines, contrast, geometry and abstraction, seeing the ordinary in extraordinary. Beauty is everywhere in our world which is just waiting to be discovered. I hope the audience could open their vision of the world by knowing there are many perspectives to view our reality. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Discovering beauty in world is a never-ending project. These photos are taken in June 2018 and this project is still on going. Unexhibited Series. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This project was photographed with digital camera and digital processed by the software Vsco and Adobe Photoshop. Prints are on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Paper. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Images printed size 40 cm x 30 cm with a black border of 10 cm wide on all sides. Limited edition, 10 for each picture, framed. TAGS: Colors, Lines, Primary Colors, Design Colors, Spectrum, Photography, Fine art Photography, Art, Fineart RESEARCH ABSTRACT: I research into the spectrum of colors and discover colors are corresponded by the light wavelength. Without light, there is no colors. Identically, without light, there is no photography. What we capture is a freeze of light and frequency at the moment. Ultimately, photography and colors are complement to each another. CHALLENGE: A search for a new and fresh expression of colors and painting in photography medium. NAME: Lau King Photography PROFILE: Lau King, is a professional and fine art photographer from Hong Kong. Being an attentive soul sensing beauty of the world, photography and visual art become the medium for her expression of the world aesthetic. Over 8 years of photography experience, she has worked for various brands like Dior, Cathay Pacific, Lalique, Chow Sang Sang, City of Dream, Le French May, JINNNN etc... Other than commercial work, King has also joined several art exhibitions in both Hong Kong and China. And some of her artworks are opened for sale and exhibited on Singapore largest online art gallery - The Artling. Her works have been collected by worldwide collectors, hotel and interior designers e.g. Rosewood Guangzhou, Beijing Ancient Architecture Design Institute and Beijing T.K. Chu Design. Other than commercial works, King's talent has won her international photography prize and exposure. She recently enter the finalist of ARTCLOUD China Signature Art Prize and Nation Geographic Photo Contest Hong Kong. She had also been invited and featured at Apple's social media Instagram in 2019.
