| DESIGN NAME: Persian Peacock Ring PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ring for Women INSPIRATION: Persian peacock ring inspired by the peacock. In Persian mythology, the peacock is a symbol of paradise, regality, nobility and beauty. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Using organic and dynamic forms in the design. Combining different elements and shapes in design with different metal colour and gemstones. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Using 3d modelling software packages and 3d-printing technology could help to achieve an accurate and high detailed design. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2019 and finished in May 2019. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Different software packages used for designing and 3D-modelling the ring. Then, it 3D-printed in wax and direct cast in three parts. Finally, gemstones set on Hero ring by using Micro-setting technique. Top of the head and eyes plated in yellow gold. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width and length of the piece from the top view are about 42mm. Its weight is about 35 grams in sterling silver. TAGS: Masterpiece, jewellery, high-end, gold, cad, fashion RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Researching about the symbolic meaning of the peacock is Persian mythology. CHALLENGE: Making a big cocktail ring in all steps is challenging. Making the high detailed and producible design on the computer, casting and mounting this piece was part of the challenge.
