| DESIGN NAME: PosterLad PRIMARY FUNCTION: Posters INSPIRATION: The designer finds an endless source of inspiration in everything a bit old, dated. Old VHS cases, 90s graphics, clothes or even music from that era. There is a certain influence of Bauhaus in the PosterLad project as well for sure. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The PosterLad project started out as a getaway of a busy designer to start something of his own. Designing a new poster almost every day, always a unique one and with the obsessive attention to detail, it became popular on social media. Always pushing the imagination to the limits, both the designer and project itself are constantly evolving. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The posters are always designed to catch the viewer's eye just by the look and feel that the posters are having. The viewer can always find certain harmony in the posters which is caused by the designer's obsession with balance and geometry. For that reasons, it may be called fine art, in a modern approach. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in October 2016 in Prague and is still going and evolving. Since October 2018, some of the posters are being exhibited in the Prague Congress Centre. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: All posters were made mainly in Adobe Indesign on a computer. Nevertheless, the designer sometimes uses Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop too. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: In most cases, the posters are being printed on a high quality 270g carton paper in a size B1 (707x1000mm). Sometimes, on special occasions these are being printed on canvas. Always prepared in CMYK colours and 300dpi resolution to achieve the finest colour detail and accuracy. TAGS: poster, design, bauhaus, fine art, shapes, color, cool, decor RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Nowadays, Poster design is something that is coming back as a sort of new form of art, not necessarily including any form of information on it. That is what was the initial thought behind the project. CHALLENGE: The designer has pushed himself into creating a new poster almost every day. It has been a challenge to always find the inspiration to make art so often. It is exactly the challenge, the unpleasant thing, that made the designer a better one.
