| DESIGN NAME: Magic of OZ PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ring INSPIRATION: In western Asian civilization,the greatest temple of gods is called ziggurats.This structure with terraced compound of successively receding stories or levels in the shape of pyramids which conveys the meaning of the separation from disparate space of the earth and reaching the skies.This piece of Iranian architecture,inspire UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The best strength point of our design is converting a piece of the history of our country’s religion to a wearable object; the ability of 360-degree rotation of gold plates gives the user the possibility of having various forms of the ziggurat. Another unique feature of this product, is the use of opal stone. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This ring is design by mixing the nature and history. The precious opal stone stabilizes all the energy in chakras, strengthens blood flow, and in addition to giving the user the possibility of therapeutic properties, by rotating the golden plates enjoys different forms of the ring and contemplate on the meaning of the ziggurat which is traversing from the corporeal world and reaching God. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was initiated on September 2018 and has been finalized on February 2018 after building the prototype. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The rings mold is modeled by printing technology and after going through the wax injecting stages, making wax tree, plaster mold, wax removing, the golden parts are cut. In the final stage the ring will be coated champagne color by electroplating in order to obtain more glimmer. Four square shaped plates are put over a pin and have rotary movement in which by their rotation of these plates, user can make different designs that are derived from the inspiration source. The green opal stone weighting about 1gr and 18 grams of gold are used in making of this ring. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Size: 54EU Length and width Four square shaped:12mm Ring weight:14gr TAGS: Ring,jewelry,Gold,Zi RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Our main goal in designing this product was to make peace, spirituality and redemption of problems of everyday lives for the current century mankind. Thus, we searched temples and sanctums and ziggurats are one kind of the highest and most valuable temples. Ziggurats are solid structures made out of sun-baked bricks with a look of stairs as of a living creature born out of soil and moving towards the skies.Their positions were in a form that four corners of the structure would be placed to the cardinal points. Most of them had 3, 5 or 7 stories raised at the height of approximately 100 meters. The first story in black color to the top in golden color. We used the opal stone in the topmost level too, which symbolizes the intuition and spirituality.Based on old myths, God descended from heaven on a rainbow and brought the message of peace and tranquility for the whole race of mankind. the stones which were near this place and touched his feet, started to shimmer abruptly. This is the myth of opal creation. The refraction of light through the stone causes the rainbow effect and according to many research this stone has a lot of therapeutic properties. CHALLENGE: Despite the existence of technology and increase in lives during recent years, people have few time to recognize spirituality, peace, nature and reaching to true tranquility and calmness. One of our main challenges was to draw people’s attention to these points during everyday life by a wearable object.
