| DESIGN NAME: The Transparent City PRIMARY FUNCTION: Apparels INSPIRATION: My collection is a contemporary avant-garde sportswear inspired by geometric structures of building forest in the big city. I inspired by concrete walls and window frame's sharp cuts so that I could express the masculine and minimal aesthetic. Through the transparent glass windows, buildings are combined into on geometric pattern, I would like to express those pattern in my collection. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The collection consists of 2 men's apparels and 1 women's apparel. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When I lived in New York City, I had a inspiration about this transparent city, so I tried to made this garment in that time. To express three dimensional building's structure, I choose the leather, since I can express emboss detail with leather. Also, to express building's shadow, I choose the organza. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in July 2012 in New York and finished in August 2012 in New York, and they were presented in Mercedes Benz fashion week in August 2012. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: I made patterns by myself and construct all garments by myself. They are made with lamb's leather and organza, the organza was developed by myself inspired from the window's frame and geometric building's lines. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Men's apparel were made in size 38, women's apparel was made in size 36. TAGS: Babygangster, SeoahLee, SunyoungLee RESEARCH ABSTRACT: I took the several photos of buildings in New York to imagine the transparent city. Since there are so many geometric shape of buildings, I could imagine style lines of my design from the building forest. CHALLENGE: Making of three dimensional line of leather was the biggest challenge.
