| DESIGN NAME: Left&Right PRIMARY FUNCTION: Armchair INSPIRATION: I was thinking of left and right handed people watching TV and having a coffee or a drink, they need to have a place for a cup or drink. Chairs close to each other also creates a warm atmosphere in the room. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Left&Right is an armchair set for left and right handed people. It looks like two normal chairs, with two arm rests and two trays. However it can be used in several ways. Position no 1 is the normal way. Two chairs with about 50 cm empty place between them. Position no 2: Two chairs with about 20 cm free space between them, connected with two trays. Arm rests has moved to same sides. Now left hand person sits on the right side and he has a place where he could easily put his coffee cup, and right hand person sits on the left side. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: First plans I did several years ago. The prototype was in our office for a long time, it was difficult to finish the final product. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The base of the chairs and the tray piece is made of wood. The seat and armrests are soft and have fabric upholstery. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Two chairs belong together, but chairs will be packed separately. Size of one chair is 800 x 800 x 600 mm TAGS: armchair, multifunctional, left-handed, right-handed RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: It was a challenge to design a furniture for left and right handed people.
