DESIGN NAME: Pepsi Year of the Pig Ltd Ed
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Beverage Packaging
INSPIRATION: The Lunar New Year has always been the most significant festival for the Chinese as it is synonymous with togetherness and going home to be with your loved ones. For an entire week, the usual rhythms of daily life stop as families gather together to celebrate. Many brands embrace the new year by commemorating the upcoming zodiac sign with tailor-made solutions that resonate with consumers and generate desirability. For the last three years, the design team has created limited edition commemorative can collections for the holiday.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The 2019 Lunar New Year limited edition can collection celebrates the holiday with emotional resonance. These hand-crafted illustrations communicate the energy and enthusiasm of the holiday. The 2019 zodiac sign, the pig, symbolizes wealth and good fortune and is featured alongside dynamic elements of Chinese New Year. Each illustration is encompassed by a vibrant heart shape that expresses the idea of “for the love of giving” during this festival. This unique and limited edition series is available for purchase on e-commerce platforms and premiums in BTL sales in China.
