| DESIGN NAME: Each takes what you needs PRIMARY FUNCTION: Modular fast food box INSPIRATION: In 2018, planes created 520 tons of food waste, while cutlery account for 87 tons.Inspired by airplane meals, every meal box is filled with tableware and food to meet everyone's needs, while some people cannot use chopsticks or toothpicks or knives and forks, so the tableware is always wasted.This phenomenon needs to be emphasized through some images to urge users to actively select and save tableware. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Traditional fast food , especially airplane meals , are packed with chopsticks , knives and forks, spoons ,etc.Due to personal habits of using tableware, some unused tableware will be thrown away directly.This design modularizes fast food with intuitive graphics, the first thing to guide people to choose the tableware.In this design, it is obvious where all the tableware is located, as well as the fragile thread on the lunch box. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The user can clearly see the easy to tear line on the packaging box, as well as the appropriate position of each module, to be used to tear off, waiting for the waiter to recycle or save it for later use. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was launched in May 2018 in zhejiang, China, and completed in hangzhou, zhejiang province, in November 2018. A pre-production trial was conducted at hangzhou xiaoshan airport in January 2019. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Injection molding the designed box body, heat seal the printed tin foil and the box.Cut along the dotted line along the module position. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width:216mm length:302mm height:43mm TAGS: recycling, classification RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Research background in the cause of tableware waste, why do people throw away unused things?Like French fries and ketchup, ketchup is easy to waste, because ketchup is not the main character, even if it is wasted, it is not obvious.Therefore, it is extremely important to put things that are easy to waste in the first place.Tableware graphic, modular, is to guide people to make good habits. CHALLENGE: The designer adjusts the order of things.People - fast food - hurry to open fast food to eat - eat away everything; People - fast food - calmly make choices - eat - recycle unused.The location of the tableware module happens to be in line with people's habits.Simple graphics magnify the problem of sorting and recycling. NAME: ICAMP DESIGN PROFILE: It is a private design company with educational, design and production qualifications. ICAMP was first established in 2008 in guangzhou, China. It is an enterprise mainly serving the design of daily necessities.This fast food box design, ICAMP has done a large number of passengers using fast food action analysis, especially in the aircraft and train. What the guests think in each step will form what actions. When the guests are hungry, they must want to tear open the package and eat the food, so if the design is to achieve its goal, it must release the signal of categorization of tableware when the guests get the fast food, and simply convey the intention of the design. |
