| DESIGN NAME: The Wonderland PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential Space INSPIRATION: The house is including a small family with four members. The original structure of the house was equipped with three rooms and one functional room, which was a complicated design and not complying with the actual needs. Therefore, our design team plans and re-organizes the living space as two rooms and one functional room. The new two rooms will keep the public space as broad as possible; one of the original room is used to enlarge the dining space and be a storage room as well. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: There are a thousand hamlets in a thousand peoples eyes by William Shakespeare. That is why designer thinks the key point of the design concept of this project is every little connection of the daily life for the family of the house owner and integration with the health, leisure, function, quality, and fine art taste create your life of truth, goodness, and beauty. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: All the design are consider to the family members habits, for the customized storage space for each household item, and for the methods of dining, leisure, entertainment, and sleep. For example, a complete public space, adopted with plenty area of glass and mirror-polished materials, not just creates the penetration and extension of sight but also enlarges this space with combining the virtual and solid decoration. You can find every amazing creativity through all the customized item, the multi-functional couch, and the bookshelf wall of geometry stylish design in one room. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Generally, the vestibule in the house has the functions of welcoming, presentation, storage. To avoid too much hardware, design team introduce multiple medium separately to increase a gorgeous gradation in vision, including the high pressure Laminate made along with iron frame style handle for the front door of the shoe cabinet and storage cabinet. Considering the operation of opening and closing in the little space at the front door, designer adopts sliding-door style for the cabinets to make a much convenient and flexible use. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The indoor area is approximately 380 square feets. TAGS: Form follows function, connection with function and aesthetic, multiplicity, see through RESEARCH ABSTRACT: All the used materials and decoration techniques of this project are selected perfectly for quality; the most delicate part of all decoration is the treatment of details, including an 8cm height difference between the vestibule and the public space to meet the client habit and ensure the implementation for the effect of dust collecting; a stage by stage decoration is made for all wood flooring in this house, which a push down technique is used to strengthen firm connection of the long shaped wood materials and structure, and further prevent the wood swelling from the humidity. CHALLENGE: The client loves to try the new proposal of functions and the modem style; even offers a great deal of room for design team to show our creativity. The main wall in the living room is an unconventional design, which we decorate it with a clear background, light gradation, and horizontal lines to enlarge the space in visual. The customized wallpaper in the corridor is another highlight in this house, which it integrates the sliding door of the multi functional room and the modeling of the wall, and the Zen conception also makes people feel relaxed and comfortable while walking through the corridor.
