DESIGN NAME: Low Calorie Line
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Rice Cakes
INSPIRATION: The inspiration was taken from a mixture of 2 cultures:
- The Indian traditional style with the attractive color combination related to the top ranking in the rice production
- The European modern style with clean and artistic layout design related to the top ranking in food processing.
So the inspiration came from the combination and the strong link between the top Indian rice production and the leading European food processing.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Low calorie, healthy, fun, light were the main target in creating this modern design.
In order to allow consumers to connect with the brand and have a marked effect on them, the focus was on:
- An artistic touch and watercolor splash provides a light feeling
- A joyful color combination gives a fun, energetic experience
- A white, transparent part reflects clean, healthy feeling
- A modern, stylish typography with overlays and 3 languages
FDA international rules are also taken into consideration for global exportation reasons.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Horizontal Flow Wrapper that makes a three sealing pillow pack with high performance level.
The packaging prevents the product losing moisture, thus prolonging shelf life.
The clip is used to close the packaging after opening to prevent the product from drying out.
Rice cakes are ready to eat, healthy and delicious round crackers made from puffed rice. They can be eaten for breakfast or as an afternoon snack. There are endless possibilities of toppings you can try, ranging from salty to sweet.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project duration was 2 months and the product is now available in supermarkets in Lebanon, UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The design was printed on OPP Matt material.
Horizontal Flow wrapper with 3 sealing.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Research:
Based on product’s origin, local and international market research. Color combination of Indian style, modern layout of European style.
Methods:
Adobe Photoshop for splash colors. Different flavors visible in color variations, 2 fixed purple, yellow and 1 varies in upper side and typography. 3 languages smoothly combined with overlapping effect of typography with circle.
Results:
Based on client’s feedback, package was remarkably appealing on shelf, sales increased locally and internationally.
CHALLENGE: Since the printing on OPP Matt is very delicate, the hardest part of the design was the color separation for the printing process in order to obtain strong colors, similar to the ones chosen from the pantone palette. Results were overwhelming showing strong colors and unique products on the shelves.
