| DESIGN NAME: Savoir Resort PRIMARY FUNCTION: Hotel Interior Design INSPIRATION: Extracting the local cultural elements of the old residence in the south lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Based on each building's layout, volume and unique beauty, different details are customized to meet their functional needs, but complies with the Xixi National Wetland landscape and shape an international luxury hotel by integrating the modern elements. Running through it is the philosophy of a hermit, one of the most important realms of thought in Chinese traditional spiritual field. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In the perspective of the requirements of indoor sight viewing, CAC has adjusted the architectural layout and the window side of the building body, thus breaking through the sense of closure of Chinese-style buildings and creating clear and transparent viewing angles with glass windows. Cut-through feelings are valued in the interior space which is separated into parts, so that landscapes are available at each corner of the building. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The subtraction method is adopted to present the design and the spatial vocabulary has been simplified as far as possible so as to play down the sense of form of indoor objects or hard decoration. The large area for windows breaks the sense of enclosure in a traditional building, fusing the indoor and the outdoor space as a whole. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Water stone and white paint and wood finish SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 40000 Square Meter TAGS: Philosophy of a Hermit, Chinese Style Residence, Water Area, Borderless Design, Hotel, Twenty Separate Villas RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Located in the Xixi Wetland, a national 5A scenic spot, the Hotel is designed on the basis of traditional folk houses in the south lower reaches of the Yangtze River following five years of meticulous pondering. It tends to create a free and open space order more in line with the characteristics of modern times, starting from the lifestyle of modern people and revolving around the philosophy of a hermit in traditional Chinese culture, in its design. CHALLENGE: The project is rebuilt and expanded from an ancient folk house, featuring strong closure, poor lighting and unreasonable functional space. How to balance traditional and modern aesthetics?And each independent villa is required to guarantee openness facing waters as well as privacy for dwellers.
