RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design research starts with my study of the sculptural shapes and forms of propellers which powers up air plane engines. The result of this process provides me with numerous shapes and sizes. This leads to a more refined selection to be adapted into making this organic topology while proving enough seating comfort and privacy with its high-back profile.
CHALLENGE: The most challenging parts of this process designing this chair is to create organic forms that can be translated into a viable product. A major part of the design process was to understand all machineries and the local craftsmen's constrains and guide them with my limited understanding of production. The result was a balance between design aesthetic and hand-on practice learnt from the experienced people of the crafts.
