DESIGN NAME: Spring Aqua Premium
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bottle
INSPIRATION: Finn Spring wanted to celebrate its precious spring water by giving it an exceptional package, creating a flagship product. The design was inspired by the concept of champagne of waters. Why should a bottle of spring water look ordinary when it can look magical? Finn Spring wanted a pet bottle with the beauty of a glass bottle but without the same weight. The startling cone shape with the diamond-patterned label and champagne-inspired opening technique give the bottle its distinctive character.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Spring Aqua Premium combines highest quality Finnish spring water with timeless, minimalistic Scandinavian package design. The distinctive cone shaped bottle is an eye cather which brings a touch of luxury to celebrations as well as everyday life.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The bottle combines top quality spring water and unique package design. Spring water is not just water but a delicate luxury item which deserves a carefully designed package. The bottle is beautiful to look at, functional to open and drink from, and smooth to manufacture on the production line.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design project started in 2014 at the Finn Spring factory in Sykarainen, Finland. The production began in Sykarainen in 2015, and the finished product was launched in the Finnish market and for export in 2015.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The design is the result of in-house technical expertise and aestethical vision, and cooperation with the bottle mold producer. The bottle and its cap are made of fully recyclable pet plastic. The bottle is blown from a preform to its final shape using a mold on the automated production line.

CHALLENGE: The hardest part of the design project was to create an eye-catching bottle which is also functional for the consumer, efficient to produce and durable.
