DESIGN NAME: Run Season Coconut Chicken Hot Pot
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Restaurant
INSPIRATION: In this attractive place especially for young people, our client wants to open a restaurant that different from traditional South East Asian style, which can offer a comfortable place for customers to relax and taste delicious food. We are also inspired by another Hainan elements, the local brocade of Li nationality that has a long history.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Run Season is a special catering brand which focuses on coconut chicken hot pot. In terms of space design, we transform the local elements in South East Asia in modern design techniques in order to present a brand new brand image. The whole dining space effectively handles the interaction between people and the landscape, and at the same time, the clever layout separates the passenger streamline from the service streamline.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The roof truss made of bamboo and thatch is a signature of South East Asia, so our team takes advantage of the height of the space to build two semi-private "House in House" in the center through dismantling and reconstructing.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2018 in Suzhou and finished in May 2018 in Suzhou.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In the selection of material and color, we choose green as the main color of space. Green can bring people a healthy, tropical and relaxed feeling, but also the smell of coconut. Therefore, we decided to use green glaze-covered bricks, texture paint, velvet seats and green plant decoration to match the overall woody and gray space.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The project covers a total of 600 square meters. We hope that we can create a variety of dining space, so that the customers can look around when stepping up to the "House in House".

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Run Season is a special catering brand which focuses on coconut chicken hot pot. The brand now has six chain stores and the latest one is located in Suzhou Center. It is not only the landmark building of Suzhou, but also thriving in business. We borrow the local elements of Southeast Asia, using modern design techniques to transform, showing a brand-new temperament of the dining space.
CHALLENGE: Designers make use of the advantages of the original high spatial level to dismantle and renovate the thatched huts in Southeast Asia with modern design methods and apply them to the design of this case. The lifting wooden frame above the water bar is evolved from the pattern of tradition Li brocade. The combination of internal and external structure present a rich and varied decorative visual effect to customers.
