| DESIGN NAME: Picture Perfect Elegance PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: The essence of cultural quality lies in elegance; the art of living lies in rhythm. The residential interior design project draws on eastern cultural sentiments as inspiration, incorporating the elements of Chinese landscape paintings, where the boundary between reality and imagination becomes blurred. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Art is infused into the living environment, replacing extravagant lavishness with calm, poised colors in order to bring about magnificent serenity to the home. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Consistent design elements are applied throughout the house to create the quaint refined recreational space. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in Aug. 2018 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The combination of the wood grille and glass sliding door endows the space with openness or discreet, soundproof qualities depending on the need of the occupant. The interior is decorated with wood veneers and exquisite, linear lighting fixtures to create a scholarly ambiance that is also the highlight of the living room and dining room. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The space is 211 square meters TAGS: Interior Design, Residential ,House,Space RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The well-illuminated living room features floor to ceiling marble wall surfaces with grains that bear a remarkable resemblance to the Chinese landscape painting on the wall. The ceiling is adorned with dark colored wood, corresponding to the color and texture of the wood grille. CHALLENGE: The interior is only furnished with a simple sofa and dark brown tea table that emanate with an air of sophistication. In the dining room, consistent wooden ceiling material is used to define the space accommodating the stately, neutral-colored wooden long table in the center. The dark wood colors of the corridor further highlight the variations in the space. The remaining spaces between the dining room and vestibule are used to accommodate art display cabinets and storage space, embodying the concept of the art of living.
