DESIGN NAME: Emperor's Love Ring
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ring
INSPIRATION: The Illuminated Garden Collection of contemporary gemstone rings was envisioned to seduce the senses. An Emperors Love ring design was inspired by the ethereal beauty of one of natures masterpieces, the perfection and symmetry of the hydrangea. Hortensia is a flower that evokes a powerful sensuality, an emotion I wanted to capture in my design. My vision was to create a unique collection of treasured and innovative gemstone rings celebrating the glorious Hortensia blossoms in brilliant color, fashioned of the highest quality.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Precious gemstones are delicately set into intricate gold settings which are created using an ancient lost wax technique. Pave stones are skillfully mounted by hand to create a striking, textural gemstone pattern. Diamonds are juxtaposed with bold and vibrant jewels. The philosophy of the Maison is to embrace the power of the feminine spirit with bravura and innovative design.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The set of diamonds can be seen when looking through the pink Tourmaline from above.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The designing and planing process of the ring started in May 2018 in Ljubljana and finished November 2018 in Ljubljana. The ring has not been made public yet.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Research started in the garden while admiring the beauty of the colorful Hortensia bushes. Studying this masterpiece of nature and its effortless perfection begged an intense focus on the expressive lines. The idea was to capture the intensity of light and color of the perfect small flower petals and craft a jewel that would allow the impression to last forever.
CHALLENGE: The challenge was to successfully fasten the small gemstone flowers onto the ring and at the same time create strength and durability. We wanted the ring to look fragile like wearing real Hortensia flowers. To mimic the lightness and live motion of the petals, the structure had to endure the pressure of wear and therefore needed be strong and resilient.
