DESIGN NAME: Foshan Tanyue Villa
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sample Room
INSPIRATION: The sample room adopts the design concept of integrating elegance to convey the aesthetics of the Song Dynasty. The project integrates elements of bamboos in the rain, pines in the wind, musical rhythm, tea, moon and book together using the concise techniques and materials to build a mild and graceful atmosphere. Those which are garish are easy to be outdated, while those which come from the depth of culture will last long.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project adopts oriental aesthetic culture to interpret that simplicity is beautiful. Instead of a luxury style, the project puts more emphasis on choosing the appropriate materials to realize the communication between materials and space. In the choice of furniture accessories, it comes more from the spiritual level to replace complexity with simplicity to echo with the traditional oriental culture. The project integrates artistic conception, poetry and minimalism to create an oriental and elegant mansion.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The sample room is designed for helping the customers to get an idea of the style of the real estate enterprise aiming to present and to attract the targeted customers to make the purchase of their houses. Customers will have a direct understanding on the quality of products through sample room so it plays an important role in helping the enterprise to sell the houses.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project is located in Foshan City, China. It takes about 65 days for the design and about 2 months to finish construction.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Located in Foshan City in Guangdong Province, where is known for its Lingnan culture, designers make research about the culture and living habits of residence first and then integrate the characteristics of the city with design elements to create a new Chinese style.
CHALLENGE: For this project, designers try to find a new way to convey a new Chinese style by using elements from ancient Chinese culture and finding inspiration from ancient literature.
