Schlachtfeld Wildnis

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Illustration

INSPIRATION:
“Schlachtfeld Wildnis“ is about the resonance of a spreading mankind whose illegal waste disposal and problems of inherited waste are directly referring to the fauna and a resultant overlay with the background of dangers of two clashimng worlds in an ecosystem, contamined by trash. The attention focused on the highly neglected issue area of faunal living conditions and the obvious, if also presumably forgotten, dangers of several inherited wastes.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The black and white illustrations of “Schlachtfeld Wildnis“ are the basics for the detailed vector-work illustration campaign, with a deep social background of illegal waste disposal. Lara Wilkin intend from an illustrativ and visual point of view the processing who is based on the animal representative characters, in order to arouse the viewer`s curiosity as well as to make his exploring insight possible. In the conception, the typography positions are subordinated and are being faced with the picture-objects, the typography is used as an informative topic supplement. The design resisted the exclusive typographical visualization because in the opinion social and environmental issues only leave a lasting impression by visualization.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
In our colorful world, black and white stand out. In combination with the many details, the illustrations are intended to get the viewer to take a closer look at the topic. Attention is important, because attention connects! The viewer stops, looks at the illustration and discovers new trifles again and again. The subject matter is profound, but the animals create a characteristic connection. Animals are defenseless like children. They manage to gain momentum and compassion.

I am absolutely in awe with Lara Wilkin's work entitled "Schlachtfeld Wildnis". It is an incredibly powerful illustration that addresses an important social issue in an aesthetically pleasing and meaningful way. The black and white illustrations are the perfect foundation for the detailed vector-work, and the animal representative characters draw the viewer in and make them curious to explore the underlying message. The typography is cleverly used to supplement the visuals and to provide an informative background to the piece. The decision to focus on the visuals rather than solely typographical elements is a great one, as it allows the viewer to really engage with the artwork and gain a better understanding of the message behind it. This work is a great example of how design can be used as a tool for social change, and I am delighted that it has been recognised with the A' Design Award.

I am truly impressed by Lara Wilkin's award-winning work, Schlachtfeld Wildnis. The black and white illustrations are captivatingly detailed and the vector work adds a great depth of social context to the piece. I was particularly drawn to the use of animal representive characters to arouse curiosity and help viewers explore deeper into the work. The typography is a perfect complement to the picture-objects, providing supplementary information in a subtle way. What really impressed me was the decision to focus on illustration rather than using exclusive typographical visualization to effectively communicate the social and environmental issues. The attention to the neglected issue of faunal living conditions is also remarkable. I would like to congratulate Lara Wilkin for their award-winning work and for creating such an impactful piece that raises awareness of issues often overlooked.
