| DESIGN NAME: Huahe Headquarters PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office INSPIRATION: The Huahe Corporation used to be a company that focus on the research of material. The concrete is one of the most important material in the company's survey. So gad wants to design a headquarter that emphasize on the combination of space and material, which finally leads to the magnificent spacious space with the least number of columns. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Project locates in an N-S site which is extremely narrow in north and east. To make the most of site, gad draw the outline of buildings according to relative regular property line. Glass curtain constitutes N-S facade, affording maximum showcase for the corporation's display as hoped. Windows are switched to certain angle to eliminate glare. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: It is the interaction and communication in between client, architects as well as constructors that constitutes the whole construction procedure. Tripartite consensus on delicacy management of construction facilitate certain new trials. For instance, BIM is applied in the project, which is valuable in collision detection on pipes and optimizing upper clearance. Besides, the model of BIM also contributes to a visual comprehension on the delicacy management of the serrated glass curtain. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Company gad expects transparent effect on office space. By corporation with the structure engineer, two-line of column grids are realized in the building. What’s more, only one column is set in the double-height hall on the top, which perfectly display the transparency of architectural space. The corridor and hanging garden on the 12th floor stretch 33.6m from south to north. Take consideration of construction and maintenance cost as well as technology and appearance, prestressed concrete beam in long span is chosen compared with steel truss, steel beam, etc. Prestressed steel is placed into beam in order to make sure of the effectiveness of stretching. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Apart from new trial on technology, the completeness reaches a relatively high level. Company gad hopes an exquisite, smooth and pure white effect can be achieved in the façade glass curtain. With the support and corporation with client, the expectation is finally achieved after one year of multiple trial on color, texture and so on. The supersize high permeability glass coordinates with new type of perforated aluminum plate, which make of the excellent effect of our façade. What’s worthy of mentioning is that the perforated aluminum plate is invented by gad and constructors. The aluminum plate is perforated by laser and then polished and folded. Under such operation, the plate is fine in detail and shining in the sun. TAGS: Office, Curtain, BIM, Structure, Completeness RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Gad conducts lots of survey on how to cooperate with the surrounding area. Due to the fact that the site lays on the suburb area, where is universally low rise building. How to implant without incurring disgust from neighbors is one of the important social issue need to be investigated. After research, gad use glass as the main facade material, which in one side, taking the responsibility of display, in other side, obscuring the shape of building, making it not rigid in suburb. CHALLENGE: The most challenging task is how to undertake the exhibition function in such narrow site. Not only serves as office, but the headquarters also takes the role of showing products made by Huahe to the whole society. The way gad solves the problem is cooperating with structure engineers, arranging widespread transparent curtain wall alongside the edge length, making the whole headquarters a display case in surroundings.
