PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multifunctional Vase
INSPIRATION: Adaptable living is a concept as an emerging point of main inspirational driver that shows how allowing the individual to customize and change their furnishings around their own lifestyle, creates a new connection and awareness to one's own furniture and creating a comfortable and fun living environment.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Segment is simple in appearance but diverse in function. The two portions can be attached to make a wider and complete vase, or simply used separately as two smaller vases. If used separately, they can hang on the wall, be placed on a table or shelf, or used as bookend holders or as a container. With a variety of different usages and styles, this is no ordinary vase. It allows the creation of unique compositions starting from an everyday object to a unique functional piece that goes beyond just a simple vase, but interacts with the space in an unexpected manner.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Individuals have the ability to choose from the various playful functions: hang on the wall, placed on a table or shelve, or used as bookend holders or container.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project began in early 2018 and was exhibited during the ‘SaloneSatellite 2018 - Salone del Mobile Milano’.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Production method: Wood lathes by hand with special coating paint with airbrush. It is first made by the 3D program to settle all the profiles and follow the instructions to manufactured.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The research involved a creation of functional Decorative Items that affective and playful environment with functionality, practicality and aesthetically as an approach.
CHALLENGE: How to grab the viewers full attention and curiosity with the design, material usage and the finishing were the key criteria of its first stage. Configuring its balance with the proportion for the suitable aesthetics was the most challenging part.
By manufacturing wood lathes by hand, the challenge of it was to attach the curved portion with the extended back plate by forming a smooth and clean edge treatment on all edges. Special coating paint required the attention to its finest refinement for the finishings.
