| DESIGN NAME: Vessel PRIMARY FUNCTION: Aromatherapy Diffuser INSPIRATION: Inspiration from the distinctive forms of ancient Chinese vases, combining decor with practicality as well as natural and man-made materials to create a stunning piece functional art that taps both the visual and olfactory senses. In fact, the fragrance that the diffuser emits when in use resembles the relaxing scent of a vase full of flowers. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Conspicuous yet calming, Vessel is truly beautiful household object that promotes relaxation of the mind and the senses. Taking its inspiration from the lines of ancient Chinese vases, this diffuser also functions as decorative tableware. Place just a few drops of your favourite essential oils on the natural volcano stone set gently but firmly into the mouth of Vessel. It appears as a work of art when in use or not to make it a stylish addition to any home or office. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The diffuser consists of a stainless steel base with a portion of volcanic stone elegantly suspended at the top that can be paired with your choice of essential oil. This helps to bring a modernly stylish experience to aromatherapy equipment that is quite unlike other devices on the market to help make the process more applicable for discerning design-conscious individuals. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Jan. 2018 in Taiwan and finished in Sep. 2018 in Taiwan. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Made of natural volcanic stone and stainless steel. Processing by lost wax casting and hand-polished. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 77*50*200mm TAGS: Diffuser, Aromatherapy, Functional Art, Luxury RESEARCH ABSTRACT: the original idea is from how to connect the emotion when people in the room, in another word, how to identify the representation of scent in certain space. especially no one will delight to with a association between toilet and office, even they have different smell. And that's why we will have this decoration which could through the temperature of materials and reflection to control the strain in room. CHALLENGE: we want the core of shape be low and steady, but the gap of two edges can be controlled to a property place, then the sight from user can get through. At the same time, environments be connected, and the medium could be exist in the room not in abrupt way.
