DESIGN NAME: Pairup-Walk in My Shoes
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lifestyle Shoes
INSPIRATION: Everyday our world is increasingly diverse. The diversity of religion, race, gender, culture etc. are things that are bound to be different from person to person that we meet.
Design is the visual way we as designers communicate with the world, so what we put into the world visually will attract its equivalent energy.
When we intentionally design experience for people who interact with our designs, it is essential to make them positive and memorable.
New canvas tells stories from everywhere.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: People or ideas that are different than our own often create discomfort for fear of the unknown.
Experience Design-Product Design
Pair up is a shoes which designed to be worn as a mismatched pair of shoes as an indication for accepting differences.
Each half a pair tells different stories from different countries to make our culturally diverse world easy to embrace.
-Each half has a different pattern design that describe its country.
-Each half has a distinctive smell associate with its country.
-First Shoes in Industry where each half will be sold separately.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Customers can buy each half separately offline and online, so they have the chance to change their halves of shoes at the stores or even exchange them with their friends.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: When the Idea sparked I started to collect data, insights and culture behaviors from different countries using internet searches, Tradition relevant blogs and friends I know form different countries. Then the stage of making a mood board to catch the main themes patterns, textures, colors and the distinctive scent of each half a pair. Then the prototyping phase was done in CAD and 3D software (Cinema 4D).
CHALLENGE: The main challenge was how to use all sneaker aspects (Design,Texture, Smell, Shoe box) to represent a culture and tell different stories yet make a cool product and experience that people would love to buy.
I used Adidas as a host brand and one of the most loved shoe brand among millennial.
