| DESIGN NAME: Pig PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multifunctional Seating INSPIRATION: Chinese zodiac is a traditional Chinese folk culture, the pig lucky became the last one of the zodiac, so pig be regarded as the symbol of good fortune, be kind, honest, and lovely, and be loved by generations of people. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Pig is a new style seat and new decoration with adorable shape, and the inspiration of it is from the lovely pig in our daily life. It suitable for a variety of decorating styles thanks to its simple but elegant shape that can be upholstered in leather or different fabric. Pig is a multipurpose pouf. Lifting the upper part it becomes a tea table thanks to the ellipsoidal plexiglass panel, under which small objects and magazines can be placed. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: It can be upholstered with leather and fabric. For the whole shape is a ottoman. Lifting the upper part it becomes a tea table, and under the table top it also is a staprage space where small objects and magazines can be placed. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The product was first designed in milan in May 2013, completed in China in February 2014 and exhibited in CIFF in March 2014. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: DSM resin is used as the internal material of pig, and the internal structure all processing in moul SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 760mm*400mm*460mm; moldling foam and export carton packing, well protect the pig in long transportation. TAGS: bionic, pet, animal, multifunction, art, humanization, creative, pig, doll, furniture, ottoman, easy seating RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Human is the creator, designer and user of furniture.Therefore, the design of "pig" focuses on the emotional study between furniture and human feeling. "Form" is an important research object of emotional design. Emotional form gives people a kind of affinity and can shorten the distance between users and furniture.Chinese traditional zodiac culture give "pig" a kind of vivid, lively, interesting form, make the pig can arouse people’s happy memory and love of life. CHALLENGE: In product developing, the biggest challenge is the assurance of product ratio, because the shape of the animal is vitality, even the ratio of small parts can make the whole product change a lot, so an optimal size need a lot of times sampling and trying.
