PRIMARY FUNCTION: Rings
INSPIRATION: Mandala is a sacred geometric symbol in buddhism and other spiritual traditions, being interpreted as two-dimentional model of universe, a representation of its internal order and clearance.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: "Mandalas" ring series translate sacred oriental ornaments into jewellery design language using innovative materials. Series consist of three items, each one represents a different mandala.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The rings have non-traditional shanks which have the design that corresponds with the design of the mandala itself.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2018 in Moscow and finished in May 2018, and was exhibited in the Museum of Amber in Kaliningrad.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Silver, anodized titanium, rauchtopaz gemstone. Texturing, polishing.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The objective of the research was to investigate the visual variability of traditional mandalas in the tibetan schools of buddhism.
CHALLENGE: Each detail of a traditional mandala has its sacred meaning, so it was really important to preserve the internal order of the constrution of the pattern.
