| DESIGN NAME: Hotel Arcadeon PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design INSPIRATION: Emell GoekChe had the vision to create an atmosphere with relaxed magic within a hotel that inspires, motivates, and captivates. A place for encounters, communication, meeting, and learning. Latest technology, sustainable concepts and materials, unique contemporary Art and Design, innovative, and flexible functionality were some of the focal points of inspiration. Integral compositions of fragrances, music, nature, independent design and individual art should evoke raw emotions for new perspectives. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Functionality combined with contemporary design. Some old lamps were reused in a new esthetic composition. Transforming rooms are Think tanks that give clients the possibility to book a single room as a coaching or meeting room for up to 4 people or as a single room overnight. Oak from sustainable cultivation and recyclable materials – custom-made Items, Designs, and Art Installations with furniture from international manufactures. 9 square meter tall Video Wall in 4K and more OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The restaurant is separated into middle and side sections by using different lamps and seating furniture. The middle section is mainly set by three oversized costume-made lamps which cover the seating area like the roof of a house, giving the space a cozy and private atmosphere. The restaurant offers a harmonic dialog of smooth contrasting materials and elegant shaded colors like emerald and silk grey. The entirety of the room concept materializes with the help of custom-made art installations. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The renovation process started in late 2016 until end of 2017 the location and official name is ARCADEON Hotel - House of Science and Education Lennestrasse 91, 58093 Hagen, Germany |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: An individual manufacture was commissioned to weld the steel lamps in the restaurant into an abstract shape. The lamps are meant to give a subtle light while forming a shelter in the form of a statement piece. The art installation behind the buffet brings together photography and a sense of community in the city of Hagen by using different angles of the famous Hohenhof owned by Karl Ernst Osthaus, side by side to create a surreal deconstruction of an important icon. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: over 2500 sq. m. renovation in 2017 TAGS: Hotel Arcadeon, ARCADEON - House of Science and Education, Hagen, Germany, Design Studio Artemell, Designer, Emell GoekChe, Interior Design, Contemporary Design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Designer Emell GoekChes unique method of design starts with the inspiration that comes from the architecture and the shape of the room itself, which she had to create anew. The vision that comes to her mind from the very first moments of a project is the base of the following steps. In the next step, the research of the exact items for the entirety of the design concept starts. Missing Items for the perfect composition are designed by the designer herself. No compromises, true realization of the bigger picture keeps the motivation high and the endurance constant. CHALLENGE: The hardest part of the design process was not to be to restricted to the very clear and strict architecture of the building. The Building is an excellent piece of work, but the interior was just nothing special. The previous aim had been on the Building, not on the Interior. Interior Designer Emell GoekChe wanted to give the inside of building the same focus, and a little bit more. With 2 Restaurants, 16 conference rooms, an own library surrounded by beautiful nature Hotel Arcadeon offers an advanced combination of meeting and learning with the latest technical advantages on highest Level and culinary joy and relaxation for Body and Soul. Teambuilding and socialisation with Deep Wood, an own cable Railway and other events and activities build up a variety of possibilities for social impact. Oak from sustainable cultivation and recyclable materials like the custom designed floors by Designer Emell GoekChe mark the sustainable features. In the hole Hotel she has combined custom made Items, Designs and Art Installations with furniture from little and middle sized german and international manufactures. Hotel Arcadeon by Emell Gök Che is a great example for a contemporary Hotel where style, quality and comfortableness are combinable with no compromises. |
