| DESIGN NAME: Thesaurus PRIMARY FUNCTION: Console Table INSPIRATION: Thesaurus, treasure in Latin, symbolizes the treasures that have been trapped by the passage of time. In some cases these treasures are visible, and in others, they are only in memories and feelings. Thesaurus' Swarovski crystals collect these emotions expressing them in their infinite sparkles imbedded in the centenary tree trunk. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Thesaurus Console table is the exquisite symbiosis between Nature and Jewelry materialized into a unique piece of furniture. Passion and craftsmanship are united to create a one of a kind sculptural table, where 14,000 Swarovski crystals are carefully embedded one by one by hand in the natural fissures of a warm centenary olive tree trunk. The base is made of black marble, which symbolizes the earth layers, and the surface of the glass plate is made in the shape of an olive leaf. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Thesaurus is a console table and it can be used as such. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Thesaurus was presented at Design Days Dubai Fair, and it has been published in magazines like Top Russ, HOT India, Inspired Living UAE, ID Prestige Morocco, Art Privé Russia, Fuera de Serie - Luxury Special in Spain. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: A delicate creation process of several months of work where 14,000 crystals of different sizes, from the Elements series, are carefully embedded one by one by hand in the natural fissures of this 100 years old olive trunk. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Height: 88 cm - Width: 60cm - Length: 220cm - Weight: 160 kg Materials: Swarovski Elements, Spanish Olive tree wood, Marquina black marble and tempered glass. TAGS: Luxury, unique, console, table, furniture, crystals, Swarovski, one of a kind, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The main research process of the project was to find the perfect centenary old olive tree trunk to create a stylish console table. CHALLENGE: The creative challenge was the process of embedding 14,000 Swarovski crystals of different sizes into the natural fissures of a tree trunk. One by one by hand.
