A place where conversations flow, debates are encouraged and food and drink are always a part of the celebration. The site, a terrace with a small built up area is set on a highway surrounded by farm fields. Since the built-up area adjoins two terraces, the entire area was used to create this terrace restaurant. This is a destination for highway travelers hence the space had to have a soothing earthen and natural quality to it.

Having said this, it also implies that the feel of the space cannot be jarring or over burdening with design elements. The project also empathizes the need to be one with nature and be in a natural surrounding that not only creates a refreshing mood but also elevates the sense of relaxation.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: vernacular terraces were studied for this project to arrive at a solution that could create a unique terrace experience for a bar.
CHALLENGE: The space as it existed was of three distinct areas that needed to be merged into one, hence the entry was provided in the middle of the space so as to make feel the entire space as singular. This singular space is then sub divided into smaller nooks and corners with seating areas.
