DESIGN NAME: Annual Awards Presentation Event
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Presentation of annual achievements
INSPIRATION: What has been accomplished in the past year should be reflected in the quality of the stage.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The stage was built to give an appropriate frame for the awards presentations and for a music show.
The execution of the design needs to represent the quality of the awards.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: We get the design and plans turned over from and now have to work out how we can get it executed with having in mind production time as well as shipping possibilities. We work out how we can get the full project done as efficient in cost and time as possible and at the same time create it in a way that the stage has its unique character. We have an automated machine shop and we produce all parts in house for our stages.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The event took place in UK, the stage was built in the USA. It took us about a months to get all elements done.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We have an automated machine shop and run our production with an 8-axis Robot arm and other CNC machines. The structure gets welded and MDF/ Styrofoam parts get attached. Some set pieces are internally lit with LEDs.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The proscenium arch spans about 80', the stage is fully built in a tent which can seat 6,500 people, only for the purpose of this event.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: There are several challenges connected to getting this set up done. One is the space limitation for shipping in an ocean container, the next is the easy and safe set up on site and at the same time, we can not compromise with the look.
CHALLENGE: Our main intention is to not compromise with the look and in the same time produce fast and efficient and have the pieces broken down in a way that they can ship. The hardest part is to figure out, how the stage can be put together and look as one unit without visible seams or joints and still make it to ship the parts and get them in place.
