| DESIGN NAME: Zhenghong Property Air Harbour Office PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office INSPIRATION: The form is derived from the nearby Yellow River which is famed of its twisting course like a dragon. The 45 de¬gree angled plan layout provides not only the most advanced park view but also a winding roofscape representing the nature curve of the Yellow River. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Strategically located near the Zhengzhou airport, the project is designed to provide office spaces for three different future occupiers: government, client corporate and tenants. The final scheme delivers a straight forward solution by laying three individual office blocks along the narrow site with shared meeting rooms level and roof terrace level as connections. Each block is designed with market proven leasing span and floor plate size to guarantee the maximized flexibility for tenants. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: - SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: - TAGS: Metaphor of the Yellow River, Iconic urban frontage, Innovative office space, Site specific design approach RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: Challenges come from 2 aspects: firstly, the proposed building should keep an ideal relationship with the adjacent residential buildings, this means to allow natural ventilation channels and view corridors for the neighbouring buildings and also to leave enough buffer space in between. Secondly, as the building is siting along the green park north to the site, the design aims to address the issue on maximizing the view gaining frontage meanwhile avoiding self-overlooking as much as possible.
